Tamara Hornyak CCRA

Lead CRA, IMARC Research Inc.

Tamara (Tammy) joined IMARC in 2008, bringing with her research experience in abundance.

She has been involved in clinical research since 2004, serving as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of Toledo. During her time there she managed over 25 phase I-IV drug trials as well as device trials, working with multiple CROs. Between the time that she worked in Toledo and joined IMARC, Tammy also worked for I3 in Ann Arbor, MI as a Pharmacovigilance Coordinator.

Her research has covered numerous therapeutic areas such as atrial fibrillation, diabetes mellitus, thoracic and abdominal aneurysms, renal atherosclerotic lesions, and orthopedic applications. She has coordinated and/or monitored technologies such as drug-eluting and balloon-expandable stents, endovascular grafts, total hip replacements, and an incision-free weight loss procedure, to name just a few.

Tammy has also spent 10 years as a staff nurse at The University of Toledo Medical Center, where she rotated through a variety of disciplines including orthopedics, medical surgical and perioperative services. Her years as a nurse and research coordinator have pushed her to excel as a monitor. Her thorough understanding of the clinical environment, as well as the wide variety of responsibilities assigned to the Research Coordinator, gives her great insight when working with Sponsors and sites to move clinical trials forward. These skills, together with her comfort in applying the regulations in various situations, have supported her in assisting sites preparing for pending FDA inspections. Accordingly, she provides helpful expertise to newer staff as they are brought on at IMARC.

Tammy earned her CCRA credentials through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. She holds an Associates degree (RN) from Owens Community College in Toledo, OH.
