| Dr. Sonstein has spent his entire career in academia, serving as faculty member, program director, department head and assistant dean at Eastern Michigan University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, University of Dayton and Columbus College. He earned a BS from Rutgers Universitiy and a PhD in Microbiology and Biochemistry from Hahnemann Medical College and has conducted basic, preclinical and clinical research in the area of antibiotic mechanism of action and antibiotic resistance, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology. He is currently Professor and Director of Clinical Research Administration at Eastern Michigan University where he developed and currently directs one of the first programs which offered academic credit and a degree in Clinical Research Administration. He was a founding member of the Consortium of Academic Programs in Clinical Research. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Drug Information Association,the Advisory Boards of the Inter-American Foundation for Clinical Research and the Alliance for Clinical Research Excellence and Safety. He currently serves on the Certification Board for the Regulatory Affairs Professions Society and is Co-Chair of the Joint Task Force for Clinical Trial Competency. |
