Sam Tom is the Vice President of Kelly Science & Clinical, the second-ranked life sciences staffing provider in the U.S. that connects thousands of life sciences professionals each year with opportunities on the cutting edge of their fields—including biomanufacturing, clinical development, regenerative medicine, and others. In this role, he leads a team of life sciences workforce solutions professionals who support clients—including 100% of the Fortune 100 life sciences and healthcare employers—with direct-hire and contract staffing, functional service provider, and business process outsourcing solutions.Prior to joining Kelly in November 2020, Sam spent more than 20 years developing and commercializing biologics, drugs, and medical devices at several leading organizations including Johnson & Johnson, Bioventus, Smith & Nephew, and Osiris Therapeutics where he served as President and CEO. From product development and R&D to general management, he brings unique insights into the journey of life sciences talent within organizations of all sizes.Sam earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Cornell University, master’s and doctoral degrees in biochemistry from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®), Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP®), and Strategic Project Leader (SPL®).
