Naomi Ruff has worked as a biomedical communicator since 2000. Her company, RuffDraft Communications LLC, provides writing, editing, and other communications services in basic, translational, and clinical science. She has worked with individual researchers, nonprofit organizations, and small and large companies on projects including publications, grant applications, continuing education, and internal company documents (for example, scientific platforms and advisory boards). Whatever the setting, she loves telling a scientific story clearly and accurately.
Naomi earned a PhD in Neurosciences from the University of California, San Diego, as well as a BS in Biochemistry and a BA in Linguistics from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has also been certified as an editor by the Board of Editors in Life Sciences. She has been active in the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) at the chapter and national levels, and her contributions to the organization were recognized in 2014 with the AMWA Presidents Award.
