Nancy Durham has been a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (C-FNP) for 13 years and Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE) for over 10 years. She has been conducting clinical trials for over 18 years, first as a research coordinator and for the last 13 years as an investigator on multiple trials Nancy has a BS degree in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University, a BSN from Medical College of Georgia and as MSN degree from Clemson University where she graduated with honors. She is currently enrolled as a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) student at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) with graduation planned for in December of 2012. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the South Carolina Nurses Association. She is also a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She is on the board of the South Carolina Upstate Nurse Practitioners, a local Nurse Practitioner professional group affiliated with AANP. In January she was awarded the AANP State Award of Excellence for South Carolina. Currently Nancy is President and CEO of Mountain View Clinical Research and acts as investigator and chief clinician. In 2010 Nancy was the first NP in Novartis Pharmaceutical history to hold the position of Principal Investigator on a clinical trial. In 2012 she will be speaking at various conventions across the nation on the topic of NPs being PIs. She has also spoken to the local community and professional organizations concerning participation in and patient recruitment for clinical trials, as well as, talks on the treatment of diabetes. Nancy has been married for over 20 years to her wonderful husband John. They have 3 grown children and two grand- children. She is an active member of Inman First Baptist Church. Nancy is passionate about nursing, research, family and her Christian faith.
