Molly Watkins started at Merck in a group called Clinical Development Program, which focused on conducting post-marketing trials for approved products within the US. This group was part of US Human Health organization and was 1 of 3 organizations within Merck that conducted clinical trials. About 6-7 years later, Merck consolidated all their clinical research groups into Merck Research Laboratories (MRL). At the time she was focused on respiratory trials. While part of MRL, she’s been able to move around and conduct trials/programs in different therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, metabolism and neurology. She is now focusing on autoimmune and immune-mediated diseases. This types of diseases can encompass multiple organ systems including but not limited to gastrointestinal, hepatology, neurology, dermatology, and rheumatology diseases.
