As an MD specializing in general wound care and burn care specifically, Dr. Hermans has been working with these types of lesions for over 30 years. I have also held a Medical Director position for a leading wound care company. Since I resigned in 2004, I have been an independent consultant. I have designed and implemented numerous studies in the field, have published extensively (> 100 publications, book chapters, journal supplements etc) and have given more than 400 lectures on wound care and related topics worldwide. I am also on the board of one of the leading wound care journals.
