Matthew J. Harker MPH, MBA

Associate Director, Projects - Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative, Duke Clinical Research Institute

Mr. Harker has over 10 years’ experience working with healthcare quality registries, technology support, clinical trials management, practice administration, and research administration with several departments within Duke University Health System. His background further extends into the fields of manufacturing, software consulting, business analytics, industrial engineering, and technology forecasting. He received his Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, an MBA from Northwest Nazarene University, and a BS in Industrial Engineering/Psychology from Boise State University. Mr. Harker also served in the US Air Force in supply chain logistics management and is a trained six sigma green belt. 
Mr. Harker currently serves as the Associate Director of Projects for the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative, an FDA sponsored public private partnership with 70+ multi-stakeholder groups engaged in addressing issues affecting the quality and efficiency in the Clinical Trials Enterprise.  We are embarking on a new program on mobile clinical trials which will help illuminate the landscape of trial readiness for improved remote monitoring and incorporation of new, novel sensors representing the disease trajectory and hopefully treatment response.
