Madelene has been involved in clinical research management for over 18 years. She is currently the program manager for research at the University of Texas- Memorial Hermann Center of Healthcare Quality and Safety. Prior to her current role, she served as the Associate Director of the UT Clinical Trials Office for 2 years and the nurse manager of the UT Clinical Research Center for 15 years. She has extensive experience in all aspects of clinical research management including developing educational programs for research nurse/coordinator training. She serves on various committees within the university including the internal review board and the research coordinator training advisory board. She is a founding member and a current Board member for the International Association of Clinical Research Nurses. Her research interests are in the biobehavioral aspects of care in the heart failure population and in patient safety initiatives.
