Clinical Research Education Specialist, Tampa General Hospital

Kim Smith is a Clinical Research Education Specialist for the Office of Clinical Research at Tampa General Hospital. In her role she designs, plans, and manages employee onboarding, education projects and formal training programs and has oversight of clinical research education activities.
Kim has a Master of Science degree with a Major in Nursing from Binghamton University. She has worked as a Registered Nurse in Acute/Intensive Care, Long Term Care, and Home Health Care settings, as a Patient Advocate in the Insurance Industry, as a Legal Nurse Consultant, and as a Quality Assurance Monitor/Auditor in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
Before joining the Office of Clinical Research at TGH, Kim worked at Moffitt Cancer Center for 11 years, as a Clinical Research Nurse in their Cutaneous Program, an Internal Monitor of Investigator Initiated Trials in the Clinical Trials Office, an Inpatient Hematology Nurse on a unit which many clinical trial treatments to patients, and as Research Clinical Specialist in the Quality Assurance and Education Department of the Clinical Trials Office.
