Karen Gammon MS, RN, CCRA

Ms. Gammon is Senior Director of Clinical Research for DNAtrix, Inc. She has clinical research experience spanning the past 25 years that was preceded by a career in clinical nursing. As a new graduate RN, she began working in pediatric neurology and neurosurgery and went on to obtain a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN). She worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pediatric Neurology, Neurosurgery and Neuro-Oncology. This was followed by a tour as a clinical nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). In 1989, she crossed the bridge from the NICU into clinical research by joining Burroughs Wellcome Co. She was initially employed as a CRA on an exemplary team of clinical researchers studying neonatal surfactant replacement therapy. Ms Gammon’s relevant past research experience includes a first-in-human (FIH) gene transfer study utilizing intratumoral instillation of oncolytic herpes virus into colorectal hepatic metastatic tumors and glioblastoma (GBM) brain tumor conducted a decade ago. More recently, she is involved in the development of an oncolytic virus being studied in patients with Glioblastoma (GBM). Ms. Gammon earned her certification as a CCRA in April 1998 and she has maintained this credential. She resides in South Carolina.
