Gustavo Kesselring MD

Dr. Gustavo Kesselring has been intimately involved in clinical research in Brazil and internationally for the past two decades. Currently, Dr. Kesselring is Executive Director of ViS Research Institute , a research institute for the study of globalization of biomedical research and clinical trials with offices in New York-US, Sao Paulo - Brazil and Mumbai - India. Dr. Kesselring is also Past President of Brazilian Society of Pharmaceutical Medicine (SBMF) and a member of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Associations of Pharmaceutical Physicians (IFAPP).

In 1988, Dr. Kesselring received his medical degree from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. Since then he has published and presented many clinical papers on clinical research, and has been an active speaker on those subjects in Brazilian and International Meetings. Since 2004, Dr. Kesselring has been Chairperson and speaker at the Drug Information Association Annual Meeting. He has written book chapters on clinical pharmacology and drug development. From 1988 to 2000, Dr. Kesselring brought broad experience and knowledge to several senior medical and clinical research positions with major multinational pharmaceutical companies including: Rhone-Poulenc, Hoechst Marion Roussel and Aventis.

From 2006 and 2010 Dr. Kesselring was Director, Clinical Operations of Clinical Research at the Science Institute at German Hospital Oswaldo Cruz, Sao Paulo, Brazil and in 2009, Dr Kesselring has developed the National Clinical Research Training Program for the Ministry of Health in Brazil and served as its director during 2009/2010. Dr. Kesselring is a respected member of senior management for several major national and international committees, commissions and trade associations committed to the advancement and conduct of high quality clinical research within the Brazilian Regulatory Agency (ANVISA), the Brazilian Medical Association (AMB), the Brazilian Society of Pharmaceutical Medicine (SBMF) the pharmaceutical Industry (INTERFARMA), the International Federation of Association of Pharmaceutical Physicians (IFAPP) and the Drug Information Association (DIA) Latin American Steering Committee.
