Farah Mompoint, Clinical Research Associate Roche Diagnostics Corporation. She received her undergraduate degree from Atlantic Union College and pursued her Graduate Degree at Howard University. Mompoint became an honorary member of the Sigma Xi scientific research society in the summer of 2001. Following her first year of graduate school; she was awarded a fellowship with the NIH & Texas A&M University to take part in an international epidemiological study of malaria in the Caribbean. It was during this time that her life was greatly impacted by the importance of clinical research. In 2003, Mompoint co-authored and published her first scientific article in the Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Parasitology on Expression of a recombinant IRP-like Plasmodium falciparum protein that specifically binds putative plasmodium IREs. While recognizing great opportunities to advance her knowledge in the field of immunology & infectious diseases; she joined the Infectious Disease Research Institute in Seattle WA; working on Malaria, Flu, and TB vaccine related research. In 2008, she joined the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in a collaborative research training effort for Fluzone Pandemic Preparedness in Atlanta. Over the years in collaborations with her colleagues; Mompoint continued publishing her work in prestigious scientific journals such Vaccine & Journal of Immunological Methods. After ten years of working in both pre-clinical & clinical research; she decided to pursue her goal of advancing further in the field of clinical research. Since 2011, Mompoint has worked as a clinical research coordinator at Florida Hospitals Orthopaedic Research Institute and has joined Roche Diagnostics Clinical Operations as a CRA.
