I have been the Lead Clinical Coordinator for the WSU Clinical Trials Research Team since 2000, I have experience and skills in all functions of running a clinical trial. While acting as Lead Coordinator at WSU, I have overseen the day-to-day management of two multi-site NIH trials (ACCORD and AIM-HIGH), five multi-site industry-sponsored clinical studies, and several investigator-initiated pilot projects with faculty within the WSU College of Pharmacy. My responsibilities have included such activities as budget feasibility, budget negotiation, quality control, IRB submissions and renewals, completion of FDA form 1572, and obtaining informed consent of participants, among other tasks. As Lead Coordinator, I work closely with PI’s to provide oversight of recruitment and retention for all of our ongoing studies. In addition to regulatory and management duties, I am active in the assessment of study participants and facilitate continuous communication with PIs and Sub-PIs of participants overall health, adverse events and lab values along with communication to participants PCP’s. In conclusion, my previous experience as a nurse for 35 years and 12 years of clinical research has given me the experience to grow as a CCRC and strive to set industry standards.
