Dr. David Reed MD

David Reed completed his medical training in 1987 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He studied internal medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey. He practiced internal medicine in Philadelphia, PA and New Jersey. In 1994 he joined the faculty of an internal medicine residency training program at Capital Health System in Trenton, New Jersey. In this role he had multiple clinical and educational responsibilities in addition to mentoring the 28 residents on their research pursuits. In 1998 Reed joined Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals in medical affairs initially on the cardiovascular team and later the bone metabolism team. His work focused on atrial fibrillation and the role of rhythm management in the atrial fibrillation patient and the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. In 2000 Reed joined Pfizer, Inc as a Regional Medical & Research Specialist on the Cardiovascular Team. His current role in the Southeast Region of the United States allows him to work with external experts around a variety of disease states such as hyperlipidemia, diabetes and thrombosis and engage them in ongoing strategic efforts at Pfizer in the research and educational spaces. During his time at Pfizer he has led or co-led many efforts working closely with many internal stakeholders. He currently serves on a variety of internal committees in leadership roles such as the Cardiovascular Disease Area Strategy Team and Clinical Trial Effectiveness RMRS Working Group. During his free time Reed enjoys time with his wife and two cats. He greatly enjoys salt water fishing and he often can be found on the beaches of Florida or the Outer Banks of North Carolina appreciating the beauty and serenity of these tranquil beaches.
