Claire Sears PhD

Director, Investigator Engagement, DrugDev

Claire Sears joined DrugDev early in 2013, firstly as a Project Director for Site Services, and subsequently moving into the role as Director, Investigator Engagement, a role she fulfils for DrugDev and for Investigator Databank. In particular, Claire focuses on DrugDevs communications with doctors, firmly believing that closer relationships between investigators, sites and industry can bring great benefits to the clinical trials process. With a background in academia and a PhD in Cardiovascular Physiology, Claire also acts as scientific consultant to the SiteStart team.

Based in the UK, before joining DrugDev, Claire spent 8 happy years at AstraZeneca in scientific communications and medical affairs roles in both clinical and commercial departments working on products in all phases of development and across a variety of therapy areas. Claire joined AZ after finishing a stint as a Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellow in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford, and has a PhD in cardiovascular physiology.
