Chris Jenkins PhD, MPH, RBP, CHMM

Dr. Jenkins has performed various roles in his career, but he is best known for his work in the field of biological safety, where he currently is employed as the Senior Director of Institutional Biosafety Committee Services and Biosafety Consulting for WCG Clinical. He has served as the Biosafety Professional at the University of Missouri, Biosafety Officer at the Scripps Research Institute, and Biosafety Specialist at Saint Louis University, and has experience providing biosafety consulting and overseeing research compliance with biological materials ranging from human gene transfer to Select Agents and Toxins. He has worked in the field of biological safety and served on hundreds of Institutional Biosafety Committees in university, private research institute and clinical settings. Dr. Jenkins received his Doctorate of Philosophy in Public Health, with a focus on Biosecurity through the Saint Louis University School for Public Health and Social Justice as well as a Masters of Public Health in Biosecurity. He is frequently consulted for workshops, webinars, and presentations, has a number of articles in print and review, and he is a Registered Biosafety Professional and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager. He runs the ABSA Learning Verification Working Group, and has participated in the ABSA Finance Committee and other ABSA sponsored activities. He also is a member of the Midwest Area Biosafety Network, and assists with the Southeast Biological Safety Association (SEBSA). In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, including the expected arrival of his third in September, owning cutting-edge technology, physical fitness, and playing the French horn.
