Brent Ibata, PhD JD MPH RAC CCRC CHRC is the Director of the Sentara Cardiovascular Research Institute, Director of research compliance for Sentara Healthcare, and is the author of the research compliance column for the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP). Dr. Ibata teaches Food, Drug and Device Law for Northeastern University’s Master Degree Program in Regulatory Affairs; and also teaches for the University of Liverpool’s online Master Degree in Clinical Research Administration. He has certificates in health law, clinical research, regulatory affairs and research compliance. Dr. Ibata is the 2015 Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. He has over a decade of clinical research experience from preclinical through all Phases of human clinical trials including both in-patient and out-patient studies. He is a past member of the Audit Committee for the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group (ACOSOG) and sat on the Institutional Review Board at Saint Louis University where he was an Assistant Professor in the Division of Neurosurgery at Saint Louis University Hospital. Dr. Ibata is the author of the book: Public Health Law and the Built Environment in American Public Schools and is a frequent speaker at global clinical research conferences.
