Angela Smith is a scientific reviewer in the Peripheral Vascular Devices Branch in the Office of Device Evaluation at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Angela is responsible for ensuring that a variety of peripheral vascular devices are safe and effective prior to marketing in the United States. This is accomplished by reviewing marketing applications and investigational studies, as well as providing guidance to the medical device community. Angela is responsible for performing the lead review of a variety of devices including inferior vena cava (IVC) filters, atherectomy and thrombectomy devices, iliac stents, and venous devices.
