Description

Learn how to apply and integrate LEAN-R processes to optimize workflow and resource allocation in your clinical trials. In this session, the University of Washington's Institute of Translational Health Sciences (ITHS) Research Coordination Center (RCC) shares how it ensures projects stay on scope, on budget and on time. Current best practices include the use of project mapping and regular team huddles to review project progress against milestones. Future work includes expanding data collection metrics to facilitate decision-making. Examine the challenges and successes of this process and how you can apply these concepts to your work. Take-aways include templates for project mapping, milestone checklists and LEAN-R tools.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Summarize how LEAN-R concepts are used to improved workflow in a research coordinator pool setting
  2. Outline the advantages and challenges of managing a research coordinator pool
  3. Identify LEAN-R concepts and processes that can be applied to your clinical research programs
