Description

Get a primer on the federal and state False Claims Acts, or Whistleblower Acts, that play an important role in detecting fraud, waste or abuse in healthcare and clinical research. A person who "knows" of such abuses being commuted against the government can file a lawsuit on its behalf and, in some cases, receive a reward for bringing original information about a violation to the government's attention. Learn about current issues and trends in fraud enforcement, and what you can do to report fraud, waste or abuse in clinical research.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe how to use the state and federal False Claims Acts as fraud enforcement tools
  2. Discuss the recent cases brought under the False Claims Act for fraud in clinical research
  3. Protect yourself, your company and clinical studies by detecting and reporting fraud
