Description
This session will cover experiences and insights obtained from the MURDOCK Study, a community-based registry and biorepository managed by the Duke Translational Medicine Institute. Enrolling and retaining a population of participants that is representative of the community from which they came presents many challenges. This session will highlight these challenges, as well as strategies the MURDOCK Study has implemented to address them.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify 4 significant challenges to recruiting a representative participant population into a community registry
- Discuss 3 strategies that can be implemented for recruiting a representative participant population into a community registry
- Suggest 4 strategies for longitudinally retaining participants enrolled in a community registry
